Mission
Friends of the Prichard Library
Herman founded the Friends of the Prichard Library in 2018. The Friends of the Prichard Library, a 501 (c) (3), supports the Prichard Library through an annual fundraiser. These funds support building and ground maintenance, internet service, phone service, and fax service for the library. As the only space offering public Wi-Fi in the city of Prichard, the library provides vital services for residents.
Divine Nine Picnic
In 2024, the Toulminville Crichton CDC sponsored the “Tri-County Divine Nine Collegiate Picnic” at Battleship Park. Partnering with local chapters of the Divine Nine and other voter empowerment organizations, the non-partisan rally aimed to educate citizens of the importance of voting and encourage voter participation for the 2024 election cycle.
Dearborn Fundraiser
In 2021, Herman organized the “Jazzy Blues on the Bay” in conjunction with the Dearborn YMCA. The “Jazzy Blues on the Bay” raised $13,000 to support the Dearborn YMCA, the only YMCA still operating in the city of Mobile.
